"Americans expect NSA to conduct its missions within the law.
But given the inherently secret nature of those missions,
how can Americans be sure that the Agency does not invade their privacy?
The 4th Amendment of the Constitution demands it... oversight
committees within all three branches of the U.S. government ensure it... and
NSA employees, as U.S. citizens, have a vested interest in upholding it.
Respecting the law is only a part of gaining Americans' trust."

A friend recently told a story of how she'd met a man some 40 or
so years ago, was interested in him, but then found out that he
had mirrors on the ceiling of his bedroom ("because it was the '60s")
and promptly lost interest. Our conversation continued about like this:
Tommy: | What's wrong with having mirrors? |
friend: | It's narcissistic. |
Tommy: | You're not just seeing yourself. A mirror lets you see a side of your partner that you wouldn't see otherwise. |
friend: | Yeah--the back side. |
What can I say. I'd hope one's partner had a backside worth seeing.
