From a conversation this morning:

friend:	What's your lead time for making a picture frame?
Tommy:	You need it for Christmas?
friend:	Yeah.
Tommy:	I can do it.

I started work on the frame this afternoon. I decided to use Joshua tree wood and started milling some pieces. I recognized the sound and feel of the table saw cutting through metal and thought, that's funny, I don't remember seeing any nails in this piece.

It was no nail but rather a jacketed bullet. Never a dull moment when milling wood you've collected.

Of course I was using a good blade rather than a old one that I would've put on the saw had I been expecting to saw through any metal.

A video of two men having sex in a US Senate hearing room has surfaced on the web. A Senate staffer alleged to be responsible has lost his job.

This is as good a time as any to say that I've had sex after hours in conference rooms of two offices I worked in. On one occasion (Manhattan, 1980) a cleaning lady started to open the door to the room.
